Bible Studies and Small Groups
DISCIPLE, Adult Bible & Fellowship Groups, Midweek Ministries
“Going Smaller To Grow Bigger– is a key to building a healthy church body and is a major emphasis amongst Friends. The need to be connected requires finding and then fitting into a group for fellowship, study and encouragement. In order to do this, we are asking each person to consider your current commitment to weekly worship, your involvement in a study or fellowship group, your participation in special church family activities along with your daily devotional time. Our prayer is that 2010 might bring us both the opportunity and the resources necessary to grow closer to Christ, nearer to one another and farther out in our reach to the community and lost world. WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY/FELLOWSHIP GROUPS
-Sunday Evening Bible Studies– meets at 6:30 PM here at the church with both a men’s and women’s group.
-Midweek Ministries– meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:45-8:15 PM and include both adult and youth group meetings. This group offers time for fellowship, worship, prayer as well as Biblical instruction.
-DISCIPLE Bible Study– currently meets on Monday evenings and is an in depth Bible Study focusing on The Church and It's Mission.
-CLASS 101– is our introduction to both the Friends Church and our Christian faith. This class meets for seven two hour sessions and focuses on the vital areas that unite and make us part of Christ’s Church; of which He is the head. (Note: This class is part of the process for becoming a member of the Friends Church.) We will be looking to begin a new session soon. Please indicate your interest on your Communication Card.
-The “Friends In Touch”- Senior Adult Bible study meets on Wednesday’s in the church fellowship room from 11:30 am –2:00 pm. Come and join us for song, study, snack and social time.
*DISCIPLE I, II, III & IV: BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY-
DISCIPLE focuses on the disciple as a learner, believer, follower, proclaimer, and servant while providing the fellowship of a small group for study, prayer, preparation, support, and servanthood. DISCIPLE invites you to bring your experiences and struggles to the Scripture. BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY uses biblical language and images and draws upon the work of pastors, teachers, and scholars to aid in the understanding of the Bible. During the course of 34 weeks our small group will move through the biblical story from Creation to the New Jerusalem. If interested, please contact the church office for details.
*Men’s & Women’s Bible Studies take place here at the church, every Sunday evening from 6:30-8 PM. Both groups offer a time for personal sharing, praise and prayer requests and the opportunity for meaningful fellowship and relationship building -while ultimately connecting more deeply with Christ through the Truth of His Word. All are welcome and encouraged to take part in this time of study and growth.
*The Men’s Monthly Breakfast & Bible Study meets the first Saturday of each month from 8 AM to 10 AM here at the church. The morning will include a light breakfast and fellowship, followed by a time of study and prayer.
